Who we are

The GERI website is managed by the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN) on behalf of the Global Ecosystem Research Infrastructure federation. TERN is the data controller for personal information collected through this site.

The site is hosted by Conetix, based in Australia.

What we collect

The only personal information we collect through this site is what you submit through the Contact Us form:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your organisation, if you choose to give it
• The subject and content of your message

We do not use Google Analytics or any other website tracking. We do not set cookies beyond those required by WordPress to run the site.

How we use it

We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Where it goes

Form submissions are processed by Formspree, our form-handling provider, and forwarded to the main TERN inbox.

How long we keep it

We keep Contact Us submissions in the TERN inbox for 12 months, after which they are deleted. Formspree retains submissions for the duration of our subscription with them.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, GDPR (if you are in the European Union or European Economic Area), and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to how we handle personal information, for example by adding a web analytics tool, we will update this page and note the date of the change at the top.
